FAQ

Good questions

How much does Christmas light installation cost?

We price by the foot of roofline, and that price includes the lights, installation, in-season repairs, January takedown and storage. Send your address for a free quote, usually within one business day.

When do I need to book?

We book all season, including last-minute installs, as our schedule allows. Booking early gets you the widest choice of dates.

Where do you work?

We focus on mountain homes and mountain towns. Send your address and town with your quote request and we'll confirm we can get to you.

How soon after booking will my lights go up?

Usually 5 to 10 days. Once your deposit is in, we order commercial-grade lights for your home in our next twice-weekly order and schedule your install as soon as they arrive.

Do I need to buy the lights?

No. Our lights are included and stay ours. We maintain them, take them down, label them to your home and store them, so next year's install is faster. Already own lights? Ask about labor-only installs.

How do I pay?

A 50% deposit reserves your install date and pays for lights cut to your home. The balance is due on install day. We take cards and bank transfers through a secure payment link.

Do you need to come out to measure?

Usually not. We measure from satellite imagery and confirm on install day. Complex homes and businesses may get a quick site visit.

When do you turn them on and take them down?

We set a timer, usually dusk to 11 pm, or whatever you prefer. Takedown starts the first week of January, and we can schedule around your trip or rental calendar.

What if a strand goes out or snow knocks something loose?

Text us. In-season repairs are free and usually done within 48 hours.

Will clips damage my roof or gutters?

No. We use clips made for shingles and gutters, with no nails, staples or screws in your home.

Do I need a special outlet?

A standard outdoor GFCI outlet works for most homes, and our LED lights draw very little power. We use plug-in lighting only, with no hardwiring.

Do you work with HOAs and property managers?

Yes. We coordinate access, keep to HOA guidelines and can bill one invoice for multiple properties.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry general liability insurance, and proof of insurance is available on request.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Your deposit is fully refundable until we order your lights, which happens at our next twice-weekly order (Monday or Thursday). After that the lights are cut to your home, so the deposit isn't refundable, but we'll gladly apply it to next season.

Do you do permanent lighting?

Not right now. We focus on seasonal installs that come down cleanly in January.

Do you clean gutters too?

Yes. We do fall and spring gutter clean-outs, and we can do them on the same visit as your lights install. See gutter cleaning.
